In the late 1800's 3 brothers Ravenhill, Harold, Charles and (one Unknown) left Tidenham NE off Chepstow to find work in the coal mines in Risca, S Wales. Harold was my late Grandfather who lived in Risca and Charles was the late Grandfather of Cambria Ravenhill who now lives in Toronto Canada. The family emigrated in 1955.
Cambria has just found me on Face Book and is looking for info about the Ravenhill family etc. Does anyone out there live near to Tidenham and could possibly check out some details for us as she intends visiting UK with her family later this year to visit her roots! I plan to meet her at Tidenham etc and hope to visit any grave sites there etc.

Here's hoping

Give Graham of GJH fame a shout.
I believe he's into the ancestry thing. He may be able to point you in the right direction.

No worries, Mrs ShiftZZ is the inhouse expert, we tend to use ancestry.co.uk we have been researching our family trees for around 25 years.

As always

ShiftZZ

PS, looks like the Ravenhills have been there for a long time, one could have been involved in a criminal case, I will let you find that one from the link.

He was Ravenscroft. His brother is Alan. Alan did a series of TV programs "A House in France" "A House in Spain" and "A House in Florida" all the same format, style and most of the same people.
