Is this a crazy idea? We've bought one of the Aldi 'satellite dishes in a suitcase' and I was considering buying a rotary airer like this:

which can double as a tripod for the dish. Has anyone tried this or am I barking?

When we got our Aldi satellite kit I bought a rotary dryer similar to Link Removed from Wilkinsons. The one I bought was about £8, 2 or 3 years ago.

Remove the washing line, cut the arms back by about a foot, invert and you have a tripod. I drilled a hole through the collar and vertical leg so that I could insert a large nail to stop it from twisting.

That should work as I have in the past used a garden airer upside down with the arms cut shorter to lessen width ( only about £9 ) bought from a cheap store locally

Got both of those.
Gonna try it. If it works, ok. If it dont, we'll be barking together. Will let you know.
Should work, only prob I can see is
lack of height.

Hmmm. Didn't think about turning it upside down - mainly cause I thought it could double as clothes airer AND satellite tripod.
