Need to go to Port Rush Northern Ireland in June so had a look at the Ferries.

Nearest to me is Liverpool-Belfast @£482.00 return.

Flight from Birmingham x2 = £ 68.00
Car hire for duration of Stay=£ 98.00
B&B Portrush x 2 " " " =£300.00
Total£466.00

Guess the van stays at home.

I reckon the Irish Sea is one of the most expensive pieces of water to cross. Would love to explore Ireland but even the short crossing from Stranraer to Larne is very dear.

So we will continue to travel to France.

Tell me about it!

Touring in any part of Ireland is great but it would be nice for us to travel to UK for a change. Sailings are crazy prices so we don't do it.

Crossing to France from Ireland isn't cheap either.

I am taking the motorhome Rosslare to Cherbourg in peak season this year and the sailing is costing £850.

Prices

Plan to visit my home town Coleraine this summer and catch up with family. Sounds like it will be a tad expensive so will have to get a move on and book something soon! Did Stranrea to Larne yrs ago but can't recall price tho!!

Go by ferry you can get some good prices, otherwise keep an out on ryanair as they often do specials - our neighbours sister only comes over when the specials are on and last year she did it for £10 each way.

To late for OP but...

Anyone travelling to Northern Ireland try Nutt Travel, they do Motorhome/caravan deals but you can also search the net for a race meeting, be it stock cars/motorbikes etc. On the booking form put in that you are visiting the race meeting and you get a huge discount! (of course you don't have to visit the race) :)

http://www.nutttravel.com/

Also, anyone visiting in NI is welcome to stay in our area for £5 per night, no frills, basic parking with an electric hook up for an extra small charge if needed. No showers but toilets on site, not the best toilets but its cheap and cheerfull :)

From their website:

Motorhomes go for the price of a car with Stena Line on the following sailings:

From Belfast @ 13.30 allweek, 19.20 Friday only.

From Stranraer @ 12.00 noon and 17.30 all week.

Caravans go FREE on the above sailings.
