as far as i know airbags are not compulsory on any vehicle, but if fitted they must be operational....including the warning light.

Hi Nick and welcome :thumb: Motor homes are mostly converted from chassis cabs and as such if the base van has airbags then the convertor will leave them in.Don't forget it is not that long ago that most cars did not have them :winky:The commercial van makers are now beginning to fit both driver and passenger airbags SO NEWER VANS WILL HAVE THEM

not neccesarily Terry.
it will depend on the spec of the van.

rock bottom base specification vans still wont have them as standard.

You like to court death it seems, or is someone else in the household not reading the posts I wonder:ROFLMAO:

But, like you us yank owners never give it a thought.. we have had airbags both sides for more years than I care to remember..

I am not saying that all these safety features in vehicles are a bad idea, but, I do think they are taking away driving skills and also make the driver complacent.
If two identical vehicles were tested by two similar drivers and one had all the ABS, ASR, Air Bags, etc; etc; and the other was without any safety features and had a boot full of fragile objects, I would bet diamonds that the vehicle without the gismos would be driven far more gentler than the one with.

Personally I reckon air bags should be banned..

They all need replacing with a 9" steel spike that shoots out if you hit something..
Watch the accident rate fall off THEN !!!!

Is it true that RVs have air bags on the rear of the drivers seat to stop the blueberry pie hitting you on the back of your head during an emergency stop.:ROFLMAO:
