If I run Ubuntu Linux on my laptop from a bootable CD and I surf etc, where does the laptop store the data created from my surfing using a bootable Linus Session?
Or does it store nothing?
Just wondering

or

Does it just create a temporary virtual machine? Deleting all traces after youu reboot.

I am no expert, in fact I am a novice user, and not up to date on the later versions. however the earlier version of Ubuntu did wipe the data but the later ones my not, sorry I cant be more positive.

Never used Linux so this is just a stab in the dark..

When you re boot with a fresh session, can you not look in the browser history and if there are files, check where they are stored ?
