Not sure if the purists would call it wild camping if it is not free, but anyway...
Went to the Dales at the weekend and stayed a couple of nights at a site. On he way bak we toured round and stopped at Semer Water to have dinner. Beautiful spot hemmed in by hills and with a fairly large lake you can swim in or canoe etc.
Anyway, the farmer came down to collect parking charges (£1.50 for 5 hours) and asked if we were staying overnight. we weren't, but he said it would be about £5.00 for our van. Thy have a sliding scale (a bit randomly applied it seems), based upon the VW camper at £4.50 per night and going up with length.
Anyway, it is a beautiful spot if anyone is interested. No facilities other than nature, obviously.
