Another problem discovered this weekend

Well, it started last weekend actually. First time we have filled the tank up with water, since the start of winter, put the pump on and put the tap on, after a lot of splattering, water came out but after a while just stopped and no more would come out. Then this w/e, filled up again, pump on, tap on, splutter, some water out, then the end.... no more, no matter how many times we tried.

The pump still seams to work as makes the correct noise..... any ideas?

Sounds like you have frost damage IE there is a split/joint forced open or somthing of that kind between the pump and the tank.

I only said "It sounds like". If your description was wrong then my diagnosis will be wrong.

Also if you need to ask "how to fix it" then may I suggest you need someone to fix it for you.

have a look at your pump, usually somewhere near the water tank, and see if its leaking when running.

after winter draindown theres usually a little water remaining in the pump and it could have frozen.

in particular, look at the built in filter housing...if it has a filter.
if its split you'll see air bubbles in the filter

if its a fiamma pump its the clear/white bit.
Link Removed

if its a shurflo its probably like this and screwed to the pump inlet stub...

if its in the tank you'll need to replace the whole pump.
