Does any one know how much it would cost to have a tyre fitted to your own wheel, I ask this as I am thinking of buying some tyre's over the Internet and having them fitted as I need them?

I have a suspicion that it might be a way of saving a bit of cash.

I buy quite a few tyres this way, my local independent tyre chappie fits them for £10 inc balancing.

We also were charged £10 a wheel to change tyres. I have seen a voucher printed in one of the Motorhome magazines for money off at Quickfit might be worth you having a search

Local to me, £25 for 4 new tyres swapped including balancing, but I had to take my old tyres with me.

Make sure to ask for a new valve too when having your own tyres fitted,
Just as important as the tyre:thumb:

agreed, and if not already fitted its worth the few extra quid to have bolt-on metal valve stems fitted.

I have just been to my nearest tyre house and asked the question about fitting my own tyre, the answer was "We don't do that". So I will keep looking. Or maybe look into fitting it my self!!.

Change tyre dealer then. I have had numerous fitted by different dealers, normally cost me £10 including valve and balance.

If you look at the likes of blackcricles.com they have the option of selecting a local fitter and the price isn't usually that much more than supply only.

£7.50 - 10 a corner fully balanced and new valves is around the going rate for most places.

As mentioned, that often also means disposing of your own old tyres. Your local refuse site will usually allow you to dispose of 1-2 tyres a week.
