Hi All

my 36 ft Bounder has a fixed LPG tank for cooker, heating etc, can i take it on channel tunnel?

also can anyone recommend a good family campsite in south of france.

First time taking it out, and advice etc gratefully received

Yes to domestic tank on bus, you just have to turn it off. If the bus is driven by gas like mine NO!

Bet if I never told the DVLA they would never know.

When booking online you answer "No" to the gas question. Sometimes, at the crossing, they ask if you have gas on board and check it is turned off but not often...

true JJ....but if there is a fire and the fire inspectors bring it down to your tanks (i know, very unlikely scenerio) could you afford all the insurance claims !....including a new train :Eeek:

As usual I have not explained myself very well!

You are allowed in the tunnel with a gas tank if it is for cooker and heating use only (not for running the engine) and can be turned off at the tank.

When you book online the question re the gas can lead one to think it means any gas but this is not the case, only gas for running the engine...

I cross by tunnel often with Gaslow bottles and Smudger crossed with me with his fixed gas tank no problem.
