Yes you do, many of the insurers offer breakdown included in the policy, many if not most, have a size and weight limit well below what you will need
I my self opted for insurance that has no breakdown cover
I then joined the Camping and Caravan Club, in order to take advantage of their "Arival Scheme" breakdown Plan
you then sign up with the RAC quoting your arrival membership No.
No size or weight restrictions apply, this then covers you for your normal daily transport and any vehicle you happen to be in.
Another area for concern is Glass cover, note i said glass and not windscreen you need a minimum of £3000 glass cover, of course that includes the windscreen as well, unlimited cover is best if you can find it
Happy RVing
Geo
PS have you found our sister site RVOC.co.uk for all things RV and much more specialist info, most of s RVers are members of both and visa versa

+1 on the arrivals scheme, thankfully never had to use it, but these are big rigs and as said most have a max weight and size limit.

recommend you look at the RVOC sister site

Suggest you look at the MHF sister site..RVOC .. www.rvoc.co.uk

You can take out insurance with your policy... I have Safeguard and that is very comprehensive.. covers us bigger RV's but I also have the German ADAC cover .. very cheap compared to some but very good... search on MHF site.. many posts about it. Covers you in Europe and also in the UK.. they use the AA many extras included. They speak first class English.. your join by calling Germany, again see the posts, lots of us have taken this cheaper cover out compared to other companies. Do read the small print.. some companies limit the amount they pay to cover a tow off the motorways.

But do log in to the RVOC..we are all American RV owners on the site and plenty of information available from those that use RV's.. it is a free site.

Hi Geo....

I have received my renewal from the C&CC Arrival scheme from the Rac and thought I'd apply through the club as well...Had a bit of time on my hands...

It's funny....NOT....that the price I was quoted was £24 below the price in the renewal???

Like for like...Double checked it....

Confused....You bet I am?:Eeek::Doh:
