Looking at our route back to UK from Spain and I fancy crossing the Pyrenees somewhere in the middle.

We will be visiting friends near Murcia and then heading north to end up near Toulouse ( hi Frankie!!)

Looked at 2 routes tonight.

1) N230 (Spain) to N125 (France)

2) E7 (Spain) to E07 (France)

Has anyone done either of these routes in May in a 7m motorhome?

We have done several routes previously but in a panel van in summer - we are a bit bigger now!!:Eeek:

Would really appreciate your ideas!!:Smile::Smile:

Aug 09 to date 9,000 miles!
The second one is the Col du Somport isn't it? and far as I recall that's a good road both sides - bearing in mind they hadn't built the tunnel then and I didn't think it was at all scarey ...... all the windy bits on the Spanish side are now tunnel so that takes care of having to look at brown scree for ages for miles either side, which was very boring TBH. Nice and green on the French side though!

Looks expensive to me !

But when did that ever stop a woman :winky:

Why does it look expensive Brian?

We're going to take about 4 weeks to get to UK visiting people and places along the way - it's our annual holiday! Then we'll get the train and go through the tunnel!

Santander ferry would be about £600 plus fuel about £200 plus 2 nights in campsites en-route.

Tunnel is about £75 plus about £500 fuel plus about 7 nights in campsites ( staying on friend's drives and french aires too)

Nice relaxing journey seeing the sights and friends and family versus mad dash to ferry and no fun, also in UK too soon after leaving paradise! - No contest!

Hi,

I did both of these routes a couple of years ago, (albeit on a motorbike).
Both are good roads and absolutely no problem in the M/H....:thumb:
