have now been given the ok to look for sailings over the water for Sept so have rang P&O and got reasonable quotes -
out dover - calais £60 rtn £140 apparently van is free on outward crossing
so then checked zeebrugge to hull both ways and settled on possible crossing back to uk for £206 this includes cabin and kennel, it was £231 for the outward crossing. We are nearer to hull than dover
rang dfds they wanted £340 and £321 respectvely for newcastle to amsterdam rtn
rang brittany and deffo needed to sit down 1 way £748.50 portsmouth - Bilbao
We used to get a rtn for that price with P&O

Euro tunnel wanted £142 and £138 which at the mo is the cheapest i have seen it on there

Hi, We sailed from Plymouth to Santander £695 return last November.... that was an inside cabin for 2 with no porthole, but did upgrade to 4 twin cabin (much better IMHO) on return

We had a terrible crossing from hell - lolol ..... would we do that crossing again ....never:Eeek::Eeek:

P&O don't do the route anymore - so Tesco no use.

We are going to Santander at Easter return for about £900.

Expensive but so is fuel.

At least I avoid the tedious drive through France:thumb:

It will be different when I am retired but if you want to go to Spain you want to get there when time is short and less driving suits me.

Just as well we're all different. I love the 'tedious' drive through France and would be quite happy to forego actually arriving in Spain.

I understand that. I only meant tedious in the sense that we were booked up in Spain and I just want to get there.

We spent the summer hols in the South of France in 2009 and we will be in Spain this summer. I quite like alternating between the Uk, France and Spain.

The cigarettes are cheaper in Spain:thumb:
