Have been digging deep in the bowls of my laptop and found loads of old motorhoming and travel photos, will be posting a few on this thread over the next few days.
Do you have any that have been sleeping for a while.
The first are of my old hotrod on La Torreta Benidorm.

The best toad I ever had Mo,perfect for blasting up those Spanish mountain roads on a hot day.
MGB running gear, rebuilt engine with new twin SUs,fast road cam, overdrive box, frighteningly quick.Hairy was an understatment.Should never have sold it.
Ahh happy days eh.

Here's another golden oldie, this is the second MH I bought, the first being a Standard Atlas, which sadly I have no photos of.
This is a Commer home build with a 1750cc petrol engine,my son and I took it to the South of France circa 1980,and if I remember right the fuel bill came to about £100 for the round trip. Oh by the way...have put a bit of weight on since then.
The last time I heard of this van it was still going strong and was on one of the Greek islands. Sorry about the quality of the photo,it was in the back of a drawer at home.

Going off on a tangent slightly...it's the AX that brings back memories for me. Mine had a similar plate (L853)...did 330K miles in it (mainly work). 53bhp diesel (whoopee!)...fanatastic MPG...great during the fuel strike.

...and so lightweight I'm guessing you hardly knew it was there when towing

OK you asked for it so we will carry on for a while.
Here comes no 4,this was my first RV and the one I did most traveling with. It was bought in 2000 and was a Rockwood Beachwood, built on an Oshkosh chassis with the legendary Cummins 5.9 B series turbo intercooled and producing 210BHP. This coach traveled 50000 miles in 5 years without any problems at all,it took me and my boat fishing in summer above the Artic Circle in Lapland and down to Morocco in winter.I had great affection for that old bus,and had hand painted murals painted on the sides.I had a great deal of work done on it in Morocco to get it restored to virtually as new condition.

Here is camper no5...This was a VW T4 1.9 non turbo diesel which I bought as a winter project whilst overwintering in Spain.I bought it from a French couple who had it from new and had settled in Spain. It was still on French plates and all I had to do was service it and give it a good clean.I think I paid 4000 euros for it when there were 1.5 to the pound.I drove it back to the UK and registered it.I then bought an old Honda acty van and cut the cab off, welded a car bonnet on the front and made a matching trailer for it.I fitted a caravan kitchen across the rear and used it for storage of clothes, fishing tackle etc.I then took off on a tour of Scandinavia for 5 months, ending up at the Nordcap. The camper covered 15000 kms in 5 months and I sold it on ebay for £7500 complete with trailer on my return. A good little earner as they say.

Seeing those pics makes me want to go back to northern Sweden/Norway. I only got as far as Abisko and Lake Tornetrask, with a side trip out to Narvik.

So..here is camper no6,This was another of my winter in Spain projects. It was another Elddis, this time a very rare one,an Autoking tag axle.As far as I know the only tag axle Elddis ever produced. It had every extra imaginable including onan LPG genny, cruise control, habitation heater working off engine whilst on the road.It had the Fiat 2.5 turbo diesel, and once it was rolling was surprisingly fast and a very comfortable ride.I bought it off a German who had bought it from the son of the original owner, who had unfortunately died in Spain.I spent about 5 months restoring this one and drove it back to the UK with towing a trailer I bought out there. This one was bought for 4000 euros also, and I know that sounds cheap for a camper of this size and quality, but it needed a lot of work, and when you think I spent 5 months working on it,maybe I was out of pocket when I sold it.I fitted new engine mounts, radiator, laminate floor, ceiling, and a mountain of other jobs.It was a very good layout as you can see and had no problem when it came to selling this one.

This bus is very unique with a great layout and sensible sized engine, would love something like it.:coolthumb:

Mind you with the perm and trousers you need fancy motorhome to stop people looking at you:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

This coming from someone who used to have blonde highlights and wore flowery denim clothes, wives took all the cool pictures sadly.:getmecoat:
