Over the Royal Wedding hols we have 7 days in France and were considering Northern France using Aires and Passions. Any good ideas for where to go? Thanks

Your not getting any help here !

7 days is not long, it's more Dutch sized than France sized, have you aver considered The Netherlands. There are sights there quite different from France, some of their feats of defying water are staggering. Amsterdam has much to offer. Old Valkenberg is really cute.

I always think of Brittany when holiday + northern France crops up but it's a fair drive to Saint-Malo, a full day. Probably worth it.

Hi

We were there over Christmas week and visited Rouen which is a lovely City we were there on Christmas eve so limited in time but it is on the list to go back as a must, we also went to Honfleur which again is a nice place.

Mont St Michel is also a great place to visit and the parking there for an overnight stop is reasonable too.

Hope you have a great time :thumb:

I agree with Brian, 7 days is very short to tour, if you have not done this before why waste what little time you driving around, remember if you have not seen the area before, then 10 miles away is just as new to you as a 1000 miles.

Think about staying within a short distance from the ferry port then stop for a couple of days and get to know the place.

You don't say which ferry port you will be using, I would suggest Dover, its the cheapest and takes the least time to cross over.

Have a look at this site http://www.campingcar-infos.com/index1.htm. it may help with your planning.

Or how about the Ardennes in Belgium - excellent walking country.

Belgium also has some interesting water management schemes on their canals - like a lock that works by pulling boats up/down a slope in a giant bathtub affair, an amazing site to watch it working.

Belgian beer..................................:winky:

Just a few ideas................

If you're into recent history then the beaches and cemetaries of Normandy will keep you busy for a week.
