Hi.
We're planning on spending about 10 days in Pembrokeshire over the long Bank Holiday end of April/beginning May. We've never been before, so wondered if anyone had any recommendations for places to go, sites to stay at. We have 2 large dogs and enjoy walking. Ideally would like to stay at quiet sites (if there are any during that particular week!), but which are within walking distance, ie about a mile, of a pub in the evening.
Many thanks
Bella

now if you were planning a little further north I would say our glorious leaders CFL might be open by then in Carmarthenshire.
you could even be the first booking and qualify for the bottle of champers, pig roast, manservent for a week etc:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Wow! That sounds just too good to miss - especially the manservant bit! We are flexible as to where we actually do go though. Haven't been to that part of Wales before, so Carmarthenshire would also be possible. Ideally we'd like to stay at 2 or 3 different sites over the week.

Hi Hope the weather is good but dont miss the beaches at Freshwater west and Barafundle. Theres a well marked coastal footpath which is served by a regular small hopper type bus service for your returns. Tenby has a carpark with reserved places for motorhomes if you fancy some fish and chips..
Also try to get to Marloes beach although the roads are a bit iffy for larger motorhomes. Stackpole and the Bosherton Lily pools are nice as well and there are a couple of good pubs around there.

There is a CC site at Freshwater East. Lovely beach. A pub at the top of the hill. Near to Barafundle Beach, Freshwater West and Broad Haven.

It does get busy but not noisy.

If you are into walking, give the coastal path a go, the cliff top view are some of the best in the UK plus there is a coastal "The Puffin" bus that is a great help so that you can do the walk in sections without having to walk back.

Thanks very much for all your helpful suggestions. Yes, Keith I hope we get the weather too. Always a risk, but we've always wanted to visit this area - and we'll make sure we pack macs and pullovers aswell as t shirts. Got to make the most of it.

Link Removed...recommend it. The roads down to the coast are quite twisty, but there's a good sized NT car park (free) with toilets. The walk around/across the ponds/lakes was lovely, there were a few people walking their dogs and if you take bird food with you, the robins, etc. will try and take it out of your hand (I didn't have any food and I still got pestered ).
