We have visited Americana for the past three years and intend to go again this year. The cost has increased again this year and will no doubt deter many from attending.

£90 per adult + £30 per camping unit arriving *Thursday July 7th
£80 per adult + £25 per camping unit arriving Friday July 8th
£50 per adult + £20 per camping unit arriving Saturday July 9th
£25 per adult Saturday only---------July 9th
£25 per adult Sunday only ----------July 10th
£45 per 16-17 years old for the duration of the festival if with a paying adult
Teenagers aged 16 – 17 years old---- £20 on the gate daily.
Children aged 15 and under admitted ‘free’ if with a paying adult.
NB. Prices include vat. Camping is charged per unit not per person

So if I arrive on Thursday and stay the duration presumably leave on Monday as with most shows / rallies with our unit it will cost £210.00 for me and the missus. Thats 52.50 per night :Eeek:

The question is - is it worth it - we have never been and often spoken about it but thats nearly 4 weeks CL pitch prices for 4 nights

The price is what has always put us off as well, im afraid i can find things that take precedence for the sort of money the organisers want for a weekend even though we love looking at trucks and cars that are exhibited at shows.

Way too expensive for us. To be honest it is ridiculous. You can get a week at Stratford for about £35 for a unit +2 adults

Yes I can call the organisers and arrange it, they have a place at the end of the airfield that they give us if we ask nicely, I won't be going though, as much as I love the week, its just tooo expensive for me this year:Sad: Do you fancy organising it?:thumb:

If you take the bands and constant entertainment in is it expensive? live music all day sometimes 2 running at the sametime, line dancing, stall, and on and on, my own view which could spoil it for me is the British weather.

How much would you pay to see a live show for one night? then add parking on top.

Its a fantastic weekend, expensive? yes especially if the music is'nt your thing. It is after all predominently a music festival. 2 outdoor stages playing live music non stop from 10am til midnight plus 2 or 3 indoor stages playing til the early hours if you like live bands thats not bad value.
We've been lots of times and will be going again but not this year as we'll be touring China.

Neil Cowley Trio @ The Edge Arts Centre, Much Wenlock...November...

£12
....brilliant music
....a small concert room with about 150 people
....loud when it needed to be, but not ear-splitting (Malvern...don't get me started)
....free parking
....and no line dancing.

No competition. I'll take a little of something great over a lot of something...er...careful....not my thing, anytime.

So...remove the 'entertainment' and it's even worse value for money.
