Hi, I'm travelling to Alicante via Calais mid-Jan 2011 and am looking for decent over-nighters preferably with a restaurant close. Prefer campsites to Aires as unit a tad long at 8m.
I'm thinking of taking the route via bordeaux and entering spain San Sebatien. Anyone done this route and can offer any tips? Thanks Guys:thumb:

Camping-le-Futuriste Near Poitiers & Futurescope open all year.

Camping La Rouletta, near St Jean de Luz very close to the N10.

Before Burgos on the N1 near Pancorbo - can't remember what it's called but there is a large statue outside the site.

We have used all these during our winters trip to Spain.

I think you will find 8m is not too long for many of the aires. Try the small villages south of Poitiers, many have aires and can take 8m. Chaunay, Couhe, Vivionne, Ruffec.

Many Thanks Keith,

Do you know anywhere north of Poitiers? I'd prefer to travel no more than 250-300 miles given the short hours of daylight.

Cheers

nowhere near long enough
Nice big aire, with little facilities at Jumiege about level and west of Rouen that we have used on occasions. Worth a look if this is near your prefered route.

Enjoy your trip----Alan

Cheers Alan, that could be a good option for us:Smile:. We'll have travelled down from Liverpool for a 7am sailing so Rouen would be far enough for first day.
