Hi
We are looking to go over to Spain next year in our Motorhome ,I would love to take my wife up to ,Bilbao and Santander,Bordeaux to start and down to Ronda . This will be a first for us so any tips or advice,ie: what to take etc , would be very much appreciated. Also any advice on routes sites where to stay, I dont mind a few night off site etc
Like I said would appreciate advice as this is a first for us.

Just a quick extra
We went to Scotland for a few days followed west coastal route , over fourth bridge found most of the nice pull ins had huge bolders placed across them and or metal hight/width restictors on entrances is this the norm??

For starters which ferry do you fancy ?

Looks like Caen would be a good one. Then quite easy down eastern France. Be a shame to miss Biarritz.

Bilbao or Santander, down through Madrid, stop Aranjuez, stop Torre del Mar, Ronda.

Do Toledo on the way back.

Simples.

If I were going to Spain I wouldn't start from there.

Cheapest has to be Dover/Calais. Then it's quite easy Rouen, Le Mans, Poitiers, Bordeaux. Then Biarritz ( gorgeous place ) then hit Spain. Very enjoyable route.

That is more or less the route we will be taking in January.. Tis only 1400 miles from Dunkerque to the southern tip of Spain ( more or less )

And remember Alan, motorhoming is as much about the journey as the destination :thumb:
( and sitting on a ferry watching waves simply does not do it for me ! )
