Hi Gordon. It was so nice to meet you at Beccles and you certainly enlivened our Saturday evening. What a provocative statement you made. Spain is really tempting me at the moment although we are hoping to get in with Jim's meet in West Wales for the New Year. If we were personally going to Spain, we would go through Dover/Calais ('cos of the dog) and then just wend our way gently down through Spain. Not on the autoroutes but perhaps the E or N roads. Cheapest way possible for us. We, by the way, were in the Buccaneer Commodore. Ivy and Sandy.

A few of us are on the Dec 12th Ferry,,, Plymouth to Santandar.. and a slow amble down stopping off for a couple of nights en-route.. ::bigsmile:

A few Brits encaserated in what is known as Lady P`s prison need our help.. We are hoping to break them out by fixing an old Axle off a 5th wheel tieing it to a vehicle and ramming the gates to this place of ill repute.. :Eeek:

We need all the help we can get,, So why not come and join us ?? :thumb:

Provocative statement - whoops!

Thanks for your nice reply. Oh dear, what provocative statement did I make or was it just being me?
Glad I livened up the evening but hope I didn't offend anyone, don't think so.
Thank you for the info too.

Hi Gaudie,

Planning to go down to Costa Blanca before Christmas for a few weeks.

Will go via Eurotunnel, keep off toll roads via Clermont Ferrand down to Perpignon and then toll roads in Spain. Not decided yet whether to go to camp Eden,Peniscola, Calpemar in Calpe or Marjol south of Alicante.

Hi Penelope
What is the temp at the site and weather conditions generally please?
Gaudie

Cool in the evenings - 13° at the moment - 6.15pm - Varies during day - can be up in early 20's in sun during the afternoons. Was beautiful today! Yesterday we had rain all day. Bit like an English summer except it goes dark earlier!

Hell of a James Bond Mo turned out to be.

Mind you, his plan of a tunnel big enough to take his Harleys was never going to work in soft Andalucian sand.

You two are going to be barred before you get here the way you are carrying on!!:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Re Gaudie

I don't know how the conversation started but I did mention that Sandy finds it very hard to say sorry. Then Gaudie said that all men are interested in is sex and that just started it off. Needless to say, sorries were resounding all over the table. Best laugh I've had for ages.

Hi Mo

G

Hi Gaudie,, We booked with Brittany Ferries direct, (On-Line)

We opted for the Sunday sailing which leaves approx 10am,,on the 12th Dec,, and gets to Santandar 9am the next day "Mon"..... which gives you plenty of time to get down country a bit,, We are heading for "Salamanca" for the first night or so..

If you go on the Wednesday ferry it leaves later (PM I think) but does not get in to Santandar till about 3pm which only leaves 2-3 hours of daylight to clear the port and get to a local campsite..

Our ticket cost us £525.one way. :whatthe::cry: but bear in mind that is for a 14 meter rig (46ft-10inch)
and three persons.

We very rarely book return passage cos we never know when we are going to get slung out of the country.. or how long we will be away..

And it`s all weather dependant nice weather we will have a leisurley drive up through France,, if a bit iffy will go back to Santandar..

Hope you can Make "Penelopepitstop`s meet,, sounds like it is going to be a nice big get together.. :thumb:

Gaudie, Mo and I are booked on the 10 am ferry from Dover to Dunkirque on January the 16th.
We will be driving down over the next 3 days ( maybe 4 ) and avoiding all toll roads if at all possible

We are returning on the 11th of February ( 8pm ferry )
We tend to stick to about 55 to 60mph ( speedo indicated so in reality about 52 to 55 ) and like to do at least 400 miles a day when 'on the move'
