We are planning a trip to Ireland next year (both north & south) & intend to purchase a suitable sat nav before we go. Has anyone got a recommendation for a suitable model, we want one that takes into account the height, width etc of the motorhome as having been to Ireland before we know how narrow some of the roads can be.:whatthe:

Essential.

Make sure it is one that says "Sure if I were going there I wouldn't start from here".

Have you got a phone which you can enhance with the satnav software?

When l was last in Ireland, l asked a local the quickest way to Dublin docks,

"are you in a car, or on foot?" he asked.

"In a car" l replied,..................................... then that will be the quickest"

Now a year - cant believe it!
Do they do them to take account of width?? I mean, plenty of vehicles are the width of a MH.

'How far is it to the next village?' asked the American tourist. 'It's about seven miles,' guessed the farmer. 'But it's only five if you run!' :winky:

The version of CoPilot I use on my Android phone has a Motohome mode which takes into account restrictions.

Don't know. Last time I worked in Ireland I was driving across green fields half the time. They have built so many roads. Generally the GPS suppliers seem to treat us with contempt with new road, like "we didn't build them did we".

Maybe our Irish living Sue will comment.

Or just go get lost, that's FUN.
