On a good night I get about 2.5mb download speed

I've got 3.3Mb tonight. I watched MotoGP at decent resolution on Eurosport. Why would I want more ?

The answer is I don't but THEY want me to have more then they can sell me more :Angry:

I had an email from PlusNet recently letting me know that I was getting switched over to the BT 21CN infrastructure and it was possible that, without doing anything, I could see a speed-up.

Before: 2.7Mb/s
After: 2.7Mb/s

Whoop!

All these announcements about upgrades, all these BBC articles with Rory Cellan-Jones about 100Mb/s networks, it makes no jot of difference until they replace the wet string between the exchange and here...including the ancient stuff that's hanging from the poles outside. And since I don't live in London or Cardiff, there's more chance of me getting a mobile "3" connection on 3 different campsites in a row, or Jensen Button winning the F1 this year, than there is of that happening any time soon.

Motor bikes you understand .. yes ?

So, I guess it's a bit like having only ridden a Honda 50cc .. why would you want a 500cc... they both get you from A to B ... don't they ?

Having enjoyed 10mb for six months, going back to 2.5mb feels like dial up..
Browsing is lightening fast, you don't watch pages load, the whole experience is just so much more enjoyable, much as riding a big bike must be..

Well, I feel sorry for you chaps.

I just did a speed test on both the above link and my own server, and both tests came up with over 19mb/s. :thumb:

cables great if you got it.....

they came through scarborough a few years back, caused mayhem....dug up the footpaths, dug up the road, then left us high and dry.
not enough interest in the town they said......

One thing they did get right on the IOW .

Can`t boast that speed at all times mind, but usuallly still good at peak times.
