Gearbox on fiat broke in under 12 months? (1 Viewer)

A camper on our site in a bessie less than 12 months old was driving out of the barrier when his gearbox went.I went and asked if he had judder in reverse and he said yes,so fiat still having trouble.
Oh it was the one they said had no problems the 160 multijet like mine.My clutch went with less than 10000 on the clock and under 3 years old.

Why .. does your TT judder in reverse or have scuttlegate ?

I cannot tell a lie.. I have indeed detected a judder ( or is that a shudder ) when I get anywhere near the damned thing !

I guess it depends on just how many original spec gearboxes were on the shelves and how desperate they are for cash.

They get away with the gearbox most of the time I think, it's us heavily loaded, big, floppy chassis that really shows it up. Or so it seems to me.

I have got a Fiat and I think that might be one of the reverse judder models (How Do I find out - I have a 2008 Burstner Aviano on a Fiat chassis?)

Does it really matter though? I am such a poor driver that everything I drive shudders when I reverse uphill.

If it does judder and a dealer spots this then it's a few thousand off the PX price once out of warranty.

If it judders it can break, serious money.

If you have any doubt get it checked while it is under warranty.
