Remember I couldn't make Bath. Had to pig sit for my daughter's two.

Well I've just eaten one of them.

Strange experience, I can still remember looking them in the eye, friendly intelligent eyes. After the first day all I had to do is shout PIIIIGS and they came running for their food. Lovely coats. Friendly creatures. They loved their food.

Looks like I/we overfed them, an inch of fat on the back.

Tasted like any other pig.

Anyone else eaten a pet ?

She's replaced the pigs with sheep, I prefer lamb.

Yes the kids got used to eating the "pet" bottle fed lambs, had to lie to them for a while but they soon got used to it. Much nicer eating home reared meat that you know is not full of pennicillen or other drugs. Than the stuff our supermarkets import from Vietnam or somewhere like it.

I once reared 2 pigs, what a nightmare, never again.
I agree, very intelligent creatures and against popular opinion they are very clean animals. They were great until they started to put serious weight on,thats when the real problems started.the damned things became Hudinis, allways escaping and they found great delight in digging up other peoples gardens.Cost me a small fortune repairing lawns and flower beds.
Having said that I did feal sorry when they went off to the slaughter house, but the pork was the best ever as they had a lot of fruit curtesy of the local supermarket and greengroser. No apple sauce required.

Isn't Basa just another name for Sea Bass?

No,,, afraid not,, if Basa is the same family as the Cat-fish that is caught in some rivers in France and Spain they can grow to gigantic fish,, in the region of 40 - 60 lbs,, they are the uglyiest fish you ever did see, and I believe they are now farmed see here.

Where as Bass are still one of the dearest fish landed in the UK and are a beautifull fish and every fishermans dream fish to land,, in some restaurants tou can pay anything up to £20 for a small fillet..
Beautiful Bass.

This reminds me of the story about the chap lost in the wilderness with only his faithfull old dog for company

He was starving, so his looked at his old friend and said, sorry rover but I got no choice.
So he roasted rover over an open fire and ate him
When he had finished eating all that was left was a pile of bones
The chap looked down at bones and thinking of all the good times they had spent together, thought

Rover would have loved them:ROFLMAO:

Maybe we are, but that assumes we are not animals, which I regret to inform you we are.

What would it take for someone as nice and gentle as you to revert - obvious - threats to your daughter.

When my veggie daughter is here I'm forced to eat rabbit food, don't tell her, but it's not bad at all. Better than motorway food, though that's not much of a compliment.
