Well Bryan and Suzy have foolishly decided that they want to spend this New Year in cold, wet and (very) windy Spain. Which unfortunately means they won't be organising a New Year beer this Year. A group of us discussed this dilemma at the recent Bath meet and me n Sian have decided to hold a meet at our place in the middle of nowhere, West Wales.

We will have use of two large, warm rooms, in a converted barn (along with a full kitchen) for use throughout the meet during the day and in the evenings. Making our own entertainment. You can roll up any time from the 29th/30th and scarper on the 2nd. There will be no hook up, but of course we can supply one in a flat battery emergency.

We have ten acres none of which will is exactly level, and the bits that are nearly level will fought over, so you will need plenty of chocks if you don't study a martial art. Pitches will be on a mixture of hard standings and grass, they will be as roomy as a popular Aire in August but with views to beat any of them. Camping will of course be free but you'll need cash to pitch in for food on NYE which will be cooked by Sian and a couple of volunteers, maybe we'll have some fireworks too.

This will be a traditional Funster New Year, so places are restricted only to those that think they will make it past midnight! We are limited to around 15 vans so only shout up and take a space, if you are definitely going to attend,

Meanwhile, can I be the first to wish you a very Happy New Year:thumb:

You'll get barred John!! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Unfortunately we can't make it as we've promised to stay in the cold and wet with Suzy and Bryan!!! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Have a great time everyone!

I,m sure we could open up a couple of webcams for NYE to wish each other well, that is of course if the weather you have down there doesn't scupper the internet connection. :ROFLMAO:

Have a great time yourselves, I'm sure you will:thumb:

me n Sian have decided to hold a meet at our place in the middle of nowhere, West Wales.

What a heroic and foolish effort. Fancy actually inviting a load of nutters to your own home.

Bit far for use to nip over but to tempt others, based on Jim's often published post code, here is what he is offering:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&s...=tvAHCZ5jbhm64XNAEj1qdw&cbp=12,188.89,,0,4.37

As opposed to slumming it with Dame Penelope:

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&s...sdvX2smdqI6pAw&cbp=12,173.66504499999996,,0,0

Essential: Make sure we have a skype link and see how many bodies still standing.

May the best weather system win.

can i bring some CHINESE LANTERNS Jim ? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Went to a wedding a few weeks ago, Port Meirion, they finished the night off with 30 odd lanterns so I queried the ecology bit and was told they used bio degradable lanterns with no wire.

still have the ability to burn things down though

Port Meirion is in Wales. Nothing is dry enough to burn in Wales. Jim is in Wales, the heat and light off a bunch of lanterns would fool the locals into thinking it was mid summer.

The other will have to put up with this view. This is from where my RV is in the Street View image you just put up. That's JJs van, I had just finished putting a load of topsoil there.

Ah, the south Wales marshes. They say a nuclear sub got lost and ended up there, and sank without trace. On a still night, you can still hear the eerie sound of a spanner tapping SOS on a rusting hull.

You'd be a brave man to go to Spain and try and get help in an emergency unless you are fluent in Spanish and carried a Spanish translated medical record. You would be uninsured if something did turn nasty, you'd not get cover for your existing condition.

Let's hope 2011 is going to bring you a bit better luck.

Maybe a bit late, it was magic for the Jazz Festival in August. Whole town tarted up and buzzing. We'll be looking out for that next year.

We had a mini FUN meet on the rugby pitch, who knows, might grow next year.
