Should that not read:- "at some fuel stations" ?

And NONE in Germany! When we in Germany in September and October, when we went to fill our Gaslow, they came and checked we had a proper filler before turning the pump ON or filled it for you.::bigsmile: I was told by a German that had they looked in my locker they would not fill them as we only have a fabric strap holding the bottles, and they have to be secured with a steel one. Bob.

Some people must be having trouble filling in some garages, because someone on Ebay is selling filler pipes with an external filler cap.

From his advert

PLEASE NOTE THAT FILLING STATIONS ARE CLAMPING DOWN ON FILLING GAS BOTTLES ON THE FORECOURT WITHOUT SUITABLE AND LEGAL PRODUCTS.

BE SAFE - NOT SORRY

If cheaper gas is the object, then just do bottle-to-bottle refills. Propane can be had for under 50p/litre in the 47kg bottles, cheaper than from the pumps.

Obviously you don't get the advantages of being able to top-up away from base, but you can always leave home with 2 'full' bottles.

What do you need to carry out bottle to bottle refills and how is it done, sounds like a good idea, with out having to spend £300 on refillable ones from Gaslo or alike

The BIG BIG problem with this is the ability to fill beyond 80% with potentially disastrous consequences

you don't need a pump! But tell me how are you going to know how much you are putting in?

i would weigh my empty bottle and calculate the weight with the gas added and stick the bottle on a set of bathroom scales , how is it done with out a pump please , the pumps i have seen are about £250

cheers

you can fill by gravity but overfill and you will have to waste gas venting it off.

Orange Calor Bottles

Since the posting of that ebay address to purchase an adapter for these orange Calor bottles, does anyone know where else they can be obtained? Or Calor bottle adapters in general?

It is really hard to find one online.

Thanks much.

Or do you have to change your bottles now in order to get refills?

Please help. Very desperate to obtain an adapter.

Fabric straps are OK in Germany it's the French that require steel straps.
