Having recently bought a Fiat 500 with blue and me, a voice activated handsfree car kit. Very impressed no need to touch phone. Automatically connects via bluetooth, syncs with your phonebook. All you do is just say call home/whoever, it asks you if you wish to call now, just respond yes and away it goes.

I would like to put something similar into motorhome. Anyone out there got a voice activated handsfree kit in motorhome. There are plenty out there as I have been googling them, but Funsters recommendations or experience of good and bad appreciated. :thumb:

Thank you

Lesley

Hi Steve
Yes built into Fiat 500, works really good, very impressed.
Would like to put similar into morohome, as I am very naughty and usually answer my phone. Very dangerous, so I must get something to stop me. Let me know if Tom Tom does it.

Not really....both my radios (the one in the care and the MH) were bought with Bluetooth capability. They were'nt especially expensive.

As soon as I get in the car/MH I set the phone to bluetooth and away we go. You talk and receive through the radio.

Will look up both radio makes and let you know if you like?

Did you have any luck with this Lesley?

I connected my 'phone up to the Tom Tom the other day and it seems to interact well with it.

Might be a solution to your Motorhome antics.....:ROFLMAO:

Hi Steve

I went into Maplins this morning and found a real cheapo one, I got it home and tried it out.
It has synced with my iphone 3gs and does voice activated dialling.
I am very happy with it.
It is a Nexus Drive Clear Pro bluetooth sun-visor with advanced noise cancellation.
You clip it onto the sun visor.
It will be perfect for the motorhome. It has a 10 metre range as well. I put my phone in the living room and used it from the kitchen, worked perfectly, so I will try it out in my sister's car tomorrow, it is her turn to drive, we take turn to piece. ::bigsmile:
For voice activation though, you must have a phone that uses voice dial.
It activates your phone's voice dial facility.
I did not want to lay out big money, but needed something because I do tend to answer the phone when driving, but I am safe now with this one. The one in the Fiat 500 works perfect as well.
I bought it in Maplins for £24.99 but you can get them on the net for £20. I wanted to get it in a shop so I could just take it back if it didn't work.
So if there are any Funsters that want a cheap voice activated handsfree system this is the one.
In halfords this morning you can lay out £200 plus and I don't suppose for one minute that it works any better than this one.

Well Pleased

Lesley

Now there's a surprise.

Have you got all your neighbours phones plumbed in ?

"DIAL dickhead_one".

"Hello ?"

"I'm half a mile from home, I hope I don't bump into your car parked on my pavement".

"DIAL dickhead_two"

Hi Steve

Oh, forgot to mention you can move it from one car to another as you charge the battery using the cigarette lighter. You can also charge it using the laptop, which is what I am doing now. The expensive ones, I think you have to hard wire them to the car to make use of all of the facilities of the phone, but then you cannot move them from one car to another.

Ah But I haven't got it yet....:thumb:

As you say it is easier to return and try if bought locally.

Now all we require is a video of you using it to verify it works well..:ROFLMAO:
