Flippin Radio (1 Viewer)

Hi folks.

We are out touring at the mo, but the radio/cd in our peugeot cab MH (Feb 2006 Compass Avantgarde 200) decides that it wishes to turn itself ON after I have turned the ignition OFF and taken the keys out of the ignition.

If I turn it off, it sometimes obeys and stays off, but sometimes it decides to turn itself back on....................Any thoughts please?????

i dont know if this helps but my Renault Scenic does this,if im washing the car i can put the radio on without the ignition,but it goes off after 15 mins.

if its the genuine radio then i'd say you had a problem.

should be able to play it for around half an hour with ign in acc position then it turns off. (conserves battery power)
but is fully off with key removed.

In the past Blauplunk has had a problem with stereo turning on in my car it would do it sometimes

Cause:Malfunction of the "CD-In-Recognition" switch of the CD drive.

Remedy:

In case of customer complaint the radio has to be replaced by a modified device with a new designed "CD-In-Recognition" switch. New parts can be recognized on the manufacturing date on the housing. From CW 04/2005 on (FD 0405 on the label) the radios are equipped with a modified CD drive.
Note: Radios produced after mentioned breakpoint will not be accepted at radio-supplier and will be sent back to the dealer immediately.

if it is one of these try leaving a cd in all the time its a bodge but it stops the radio turning on on its own on the Vauxhalls with this problem.I had mine changed at two years old as it was a know fault to Vauxhall

Neither of us can remember if we did anything but we do know that we do not have the problem anymore.
