I want to add another 12Volt 110 amp battery to my system to give me longer power when not on hook up.especially now that winter is approaching but need the following advise
(1) Will it be worth it
(2) To connect two together is it POS to POS and NEG to NEG
(3) What thickness of wire will I need
(4) Then is it Normal Connection to the system POS and NEG
(5) Will the present Charger be suffice

Any advise will greatly appreciated

To add to what Terry said about thickness.

I agree with him, the thicker the better. But where does it become overkill (i.e. anything bigger than 25mm is going to be HUGE and difficult to work). My advice - get a 16mm jumper set and cut it up.

If you were going for several batteries and an inverter greater and 1kw I would say you want at least 16mm but I use 25mm (partly because I have a Sterling B-2-B charger and my cable is quite long).

Another option is to go to someone like MDC and get those ready-made battery cables. I think they are about 16mm. Over a short distance (i.e. 50cm) 16mm can handle a very big load. With 12v your cable distance is very important.
