Looking round at them I am getting totally confused! :Eeek:
On one site my regulator is rated at 120w or 10amp
on another it is rated at 240w or 10amp! :Eeek:

Now very confused, one I am thinking of getting is rated at 240w or 20amp on one site and the same one on another site is rated at 320w or 20 amp. :whatthe:

Now, I have 2x80w panels and thinking of adding a 3rd Will the one in large print be plenty bearing in mind on another site it is rated at 320w or 20 amp?

HELP :Blush::whatthe::Eeek::ROFLMAO:

Ken Im no expert, no really Im not but I would of thought it like this.

I have 1 panel 80w and the most its ever going to put in is about 6amps if im really lucky and strapped to the back of the space shuttle. therefore, if each of your panels gives the same, then that totals 18amps, therefore a 20 amp regulator will be required will it not?

Sadly as said Mark is on holiday at the moment, but Bryan's becoming a little guru on the subject and Geo also knows the score, why not try PMing them

or take what I say as gospel:Eeek::Eeek::Eeek:

I guess that is input or output of the regulator. Naturally 320W looks better.

20A at 12V on the output.
20A at 16V on the input.

The 20A is the vital number.

What can an 80W push out ? Guess 80W / 15V = 5A. So your three 80W panels will not overload a 20A reg. IMHO.

Hi mate a 20amp regulator in the UK should be fine with 3 x 80w panels , but if you are planning to go abroard in the hotter sunshine then to be on the safe side get a 30 amp regulator , costs a little bit more but worth it for piece of mind :thumb:

Methinks we will wait for Mark coming back and arrange for extra panel and regulator. Thanks to all for advice. ::bigsmile:

If you are at Malvern Ken I am planning on fitting my fourth panel there and you can hold the ladder and talk about your regulator... :ROFLMAO:

... if I can get a dealer to supply me a 20amp Steca regulator...

JJ :winky:

Thought it would be a great way to avoid line dancing...

"...love to come dancing but must finish my panel fixing...."
