you could hang a whirrly washing dryer, towels or even make your own sun blocker and use these to hang it .. not so sure about the hanging basket ..

We have some . We dont use them to hang hanging baskets on thoughoh:
Wet coats , usually

Sometimes solar xmas lights , little tea lights ...
