Carioca 656 2004 model weight (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I have a 2004 registered Carioca 656 (long wheel base) looking on the net I have two different weights listed, can anyone tell me the maximum weight on this model.

Your van is the same as mine, this is from the load plate

Max Weight fully loaded 3400kg

Max Train Weight 4600kg

Axle 1 1750kg

Axle 2 1900kg

Spot on, had seen that before but didn't realise that it had that information on it, presumed (wrongly) that it should be found in the log book DOH!

For info mine says:

3400kg = total max weight of van fully loaded....do not exceed !

5000kg total weight of van and trailer combined.

1750kg = front axle max weight

1900kg = rear axle max weight

your max trailer weight is 1600kg if the van is fully loaded to max weight.

front and rear axles always add up to more than the total vehicle weight to allow for uneven loading. they should never be exceeded individually nor the total weight.

if the rear is 1900kg then the front can only be 1500kg...
1900kg + 1500kg = 3400kg.

Had the van weighed, not fully loaded and the weights came out as:

Gross 2960
Front Axle 1380
Rear Axle 1580

The main purpose was to get the correct tyre pressures which I have done, when the kids are off next, I'll load it up and see what margin, if any, I have!

I havn't for fully laden only for what it is now, this baseline weight is the normal one for us, when we are going to go on our next trip, I'll get it re -weighed.

I sent the details of my actual weights to Continental and they gave me the following information for vanco camper 215/70 R15:

Front - 43psi
Rear - 47 psi

The formula (Gained from another site):

Base figure of 1490kg at 43.5psi, every 100kg will require an increase of 3.6 psi up to a maximum of 2060kg at 65psi.

couple of kids will weigh 80 to 100kg max ????

so the pressure isnt that critical if you forget to take the kids with you.oh:

can,t be correct because the increase of load capacity to pressure isn't linear

and the figures you have quoted sound too low to me , I have the same chassis [I presume , a 2.8 ] and use 65 psi front and 73 psi rear loaded , the reduction for being lighter shouldn't be that much

The engine is a 2.0, the info re tyre pressures came from:

The door pillar pressure are 71 psi, so I agree it does appear very low, but I have consulted the manufacturer and thats their documented advice, i will off course keep an eye for tread wear etc
