Holiday cancelled (1 Viewer)

Hi Folks,
Myself and Management had planned to leave next teusday for our first trip abroad, to Lake Garda area.
Holiday off now.
I was on the garage roof washing the luton top when the roof collapsed under me.
The concrete floor broke my fall.
Result:
Broken right ankle, dislocated left little toe, hurt pride, earache for STUPIDITY, lots of pain.
Didnt even finish washing the van.
As Management doesnt drive, the job's knackered.
Can see the funny side, but we are still gutted.
Not looking "oh dear", but if you want to take the p*ss, I can take it.

We were booked to go to the bay of roses on the 29th but cos i've got a hernia and can't dive there's no point in going.
We've put it off till september :thumb:

Well as I don't know you I wouldn't feel comfortable taking the **** but on this occasion I'll make an exception

I've heard of some ways of getting out of going away for bank holiday so people can spend all w/e in front of the tv drinking beer but that has to be the dangedest. Well done. I couldn't have done better myself.

I was hacked off at having to postpone our Lake Garda holiday due to a delay in getting my wifes visa but i have to say having read your woes i'm quite relieved its only paperwork issues

I am not saying orrible things like the uthers r,, but if you had used your brains, you would have dipped the brush in the water, taken a good aim,, and at least not wasted your trip down to ground level, you could have washed a bit more that way,,,,

Oh so sorry to hear what happened , as others have said previously at least the trip is still viable in the future, it could have been cancelled full stop.

Morale of the story... let someone else do the roof !
(what is happening about the m/h roof, is it fixable ... i have no idea about these things??)

maybe you could start up a club for motorhomers who have misfortunes whilst trying to clean the roof i know of at least one other funster who would join

John, tip for you. Well two really

1) Always place management below where you are working, ostensibly to supervise but primarily to cushion any falls

2) Anything over 3 feet up always wear a parachute.............. No, it wont open but cos it is heavy it will hit the floor first and take the impact AND it makes people wonder what the hell you are doing !

I am busy with work now through the rest of the year, so it will just be weekends.
Told all my clients I'm not playing in June, but now for different reasons.
Definitely a cancellation where this year is concerned.
