Battery has died on the RV (Damon Daybreak) its an AC Delco 78-7YR with side connections, cold cranking 690 AMPS, any ideas where to find one, searched the net with no luck as yet, rang Duncan but his phone is on voice mail, I have sent him a mail, also mailed Van Bitz, thought about installing a post battery but the cables only just reach the existing battery and will need renewing, plus it is very tight under the hood need to keep to the same size battery.

Hi Derek
Duncs here at the Peterborough Show, and as ever inundated with work and customers.
Those numbers I dont recognise as Uk battery part Nos
There is I suspect little chance of getting a US made battery over here,no one would pay the shipping costs:Doh:
matching size and cranking amps may be a compramise too:cry:
Personaly I would change the terminals and go to the nearest uk spec
your going to need a battery specialist not an accessary shop

Hi Derek, you may be able to use an Optima Red Top, Group 34 battery which also has the side terminals. Optimas are more commonly available and I think Martin (PPM) supplies them.

Hi Gary

Looked at those haven't got the room to get one in, getting the old one out is hard enough you need to tip it on its side and drag it out as you cant lift it easily, looks like I have found one in Southend at Lincoln battery's, how is Julie and Sam, has Sam had much training as yet, did you go to Karens training camp at Nico's over the weekend.

just worth a mention because i know side terminal batteries are not that cheap, but you can get adapters so you can use any top terminal battery, no need to mess bout with the cables. i have seen them on ebay for sale but click the link to see what i mean.

Yes Derek, Sam got back from Belgium late Sunday afternoon absolutely cream crackered. She ate a huge bowl of pasta and slept solidly for thirteen hours! We've been out twice with her other than that and we've still got the Bank Holiday weekend for final practice. She'll be ready.
