Hi,

I have a solar panel and regulator already installed on my RV but I want to add a second.

Do I have to 'match' them? In either size or rating?

Can I wire it into the regulator by just twisting the two wires together or do I need to do something special?

Thanks
Bryan

Bryan you can add as many panels as you want but Suzy will still need her genny:winky::winky:

Hi Bryan

it depends on the regulators rating and the sum total of the 2 panels rating.

I would make a better connection than just twisting the wires togethor but principle is right...

Thanks for that, I have the manual somewhere for the regulator so it should tell me in there what rating it can handle.

The twisting the wires comment was just a simple way of checking that I don't need anything special..

Hi Bryan

I guessed that you were simplifying, but just in case you meant it I thought had better say something.....

Do post the figures, especially if they are close ie if regulator is 55 Watt and both panels totall 60 watt say, because regulator values are pretty real while panel ratings are generally ott unless you have Australian sunshine and a system of solar tracking and panel angling, even then they would be ott as after allowing conversion losses (panels are often rated at odd voltages and have to be dropped to a usable level)
