We have a Weber gas BBQ - we use it nearly every day - has a huge lid so you can use it like an oven - did jacket spuds in it last night.

Since 2009 with motorhomes several caravans then tents before that.
We wouldn't be without our Cadac.
Its used for most of the meals in the Summer.
We've had it 5 years now.
The kids love making crepes with nuttella spread , and we end up with quite an eager crowd !!

The Cadac Safari Chef seems fine for two people, small enough to clean in the M/H sink if no outside facilities available. Comes with short spring loaded legs for just setting on the ground or on a table top. We link ours to outside BBQ point and run on LP. They have a HP model that runs with camping gas cylinder

Do the Cadac’s use a tremendous amount of gas?
If I use on the external gas point am I going to end up going though bottles at a huge rate ?
Im off to Northern France in July with 2 x 7KG gas bottles aboard so im wondering if I will have enough to last 2 weeks

Hi.

We use our cadac 95% of the time in the summer season. Cooking for 4 a 7kg gas bottle normally lasts about 4 weeks and that includes a few cooked breakfasts.

Thats' far too much storage space taken up - we just use the cheap lidls' ones, they collapse back in the box in a few minutes and take up a tiny amount of space.

Can't beat a genuine barby - sitting around with a drink into the early hours whilst the coals cool. What camping is about!

Quick clean in the morning, and then back in the box!:thumb:

A lot of European sites will NOT allow charcole/briqeutte BBQ

So gas is the best option.

Cobb.

The last few times we've been away on rallies we've cooked all our meals on it. Roast dinner, breakfast, even done home made bread.
