Hi

Does anyone know if the first generation Fiat Ducato (1981–1993) was rear wheel drive ?

I've had a look at the Ducato history here but it doesn't say.

cheers

My first coachbuilt back in 1991 was a 'E' reg (1987) Swift Kontiki on the front wheel drive petrol. It was the lowest bhp model Fiat made, any slight incline you would have to change to 4th gear.

My Hymer was nearly 19 years old when I sold it,there was almost 100,000 miles on the clock and NO CLUTCH problems EVER! A very reliable vehicle.:thumb::thumb:
Don't be tempted by exotic variations like 4WD by Dangel, A friend of mine had one and it never worked right.

Cheers, I remember when you had it up for sale when I first asked about older Hymers ..

Once I sell George I'll be searching for one, either a B534 or S 550 on Merc chassis , early nineties, I prefer the older Hymers ..

thanks to all who confirmed front wheel drive on the Fiat ..
