i have a chassion weclome28 on a transit base 06 plate all the 12volt equipment seems to be running off the cab battery and not the leisure battery is there a relay or somthing along them lines that could have failed

Not sure if the van is new to you or if you've used it before. Is there a switch on the controle pannel that says"towing" and "onsite" or something like that ? it should in the on site position .

no there is nothing like that on the control panal there ia the battery condition lights on the panal

I dont know for sure but would think its got a relay that switches batterys when the ignition is switched off.

cheers john it must be a relay the thing is now is to locate it

the charge relay is NORMALLY as close to the battery as possible.

it should kick in when the engine starts, not just ignition on.

needs two people ......locate ANY relay near the battery and hold a finger on it while a mate startes the engine...you should feel it click.
any that doesnt should be treated with suspicion.

the easiest way is to disconnect the relays in turn, if more than one, and see if one kills the hab power. .

They can be many colours, mainly black, sometimes yellow/blue/green. the smaller ones are about 25mm square usualy plastic cover with four wires coming out of one side or pushed flush into a fuse box etc.
