Hi all,

We are taking a well earned rest near Wigan for easter weekend (2nd, 3rd & 4th April) - following the Newark Spring show the weekend before.

We are going to Charity Farm campsite...

This is their website http://www.charityfarm.co.uk/

Briefly:

Charity Farm Caravan and Camping Site Facilities
Situated in Beautiful West Lancashire at the heart of a 115 acre working farm, surrounded by open fields, country lanes and woodland but less than 4 miles from Junction 27 on the M6 motorway. The large village of Eccleston is 3 miles away with a supermarket, newsagents, chemist, post office and numerous other shops.
The historic village of Link Removed and pretty villages of Link Removed, Heskin and Appley Bridge are all nearby.
We welcome touring caravans, motor homes, trailer tents, and tents.
Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead whilst on the park.

The site features:
Electric hookups.
Hard standing and grass pitches.
Modern toilets and showers with shaver points and electric plugs.
Self catering canteen with sinks and hot water for washing up.
Laundry facilities.
Vending machines.
Payphone.
Chemical toilet disposal unit.

On site attractions include:
Day Ticket coarse fishing.
Private farm walks.
Dog exercise area

So if you fancy it as well then please book it direct with the site and let us know you are going - and we look forward to seeing you there :thumb:

thankyou

Yippee!!!!

We will come along. I shall ring in the morning and book 3 nights 2nd, 3rd and 4th. I assume that is the right dates?
Let us know if it is any different. We will book hook-up as well. Any chance we could be all close to each other?
Graham & Jean
PS. We will bring Big Bertha awning, complete with a nice little heater, lol

Nice idea Bryan... was tempted until I read Dog £3.00 per night !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

£16 for 2 adults, 2 children and a car...... there's just me and the dog !!!!!

£ 19 per night .......another blood with a y on UK rip off

no showers for 1 adult and 2 kids that should qualify for a 75% reduction ....

then I can afford the absolute greedy rip off of £3 A NIGHT for the dog....

who doesn't take showers (except at home:winky:) and doesn't use the crapper (thanks to me + poop scoop)... in fact doesn't use anything on the site !!!

There is in fact a purpose built dog walk for your £3 per night. :thumb:

Just at the minute I dont particularley care about charges for dogs on camp sites, however.

I have never yet managed to find a camp site manager or employee who can explain to me just what the dog or me get for his/her/my money.

Everything is provided by the dog owner. As for dog walks they are a joke, its normally a bit of redundant land at the side of the site which nobody has any use for anyway.

They are normally dirty unkempt and full of litter dropped by campers and then blown into the dog walk, out of site out of mind.

Its a blatant rip off.

Sorry wasn't trying to highjack the post.

Not Bruno John , they have specially trained Jockeys for him:ROFLMAO:

In seriousness £3 pn for a dog is a lot. But as said there is a purpose built dog walking area making it a pleasure to take your dog (there words not mine) so therefore at least they have put some effort in and not just charging because you have one. :thumb:

Can we now stay on topic? :thumb:

If you want to discuss campsite charges that you consider unfair please, by all means start a thread about it. This thread is to discuss the easter getaway we have planned ::bigsmile:

This campsite charges £3 for a dog - if you don't want to pay that then perhaps this venue is not for you.

Booked

Hi Bryan & Suzy,
Booked in for the 3 nights, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. We shall be there around mid-day. We will bring the big awning and Cadac to give you two a break from the crowds. Anyone can use it as a gathering place whenever they want. As you say, you are there for the resting so just let the rest of us do our bits, with advise and guidance of course, lol.
Regards
Graham & Jean

Ok guys I have booked in .

two adults two children and a dog. No hard standing left but he will get us all close together. Sounded a really nice chap and saod the site was quite small anyway so wont have to walk to far to get those bacon butties from Suzy ::bigsmile:

looking forward to it already.

Incidently if anyone is interested we are going to Newark and then on a magical mystery tour up to the North East or maybe Whitby should anyone want to join us.:thumb:

Yes, I did just that Suzy.... still too much

they're happy to charge extra for more than two peeps....

but no reduction for one person

(Would have been nice of them to have waved John's £7 for Bruno seeing that he's on his own...and staying for a week)

It seems this "highjack wasnt a highjack after all, it appears as though the biggest turn off (now re-specified) is concerning dogs so no need to start a new thread.

Well Im going and I know a scouser or two are trying to book. Im determined to stay on topic but some people pay 20k for a motorhome and moan about £9 for 3 nights for a dog?

I bet you couldn't go and find entertainment and the fun that you will have on a meet for £9 elsewhere.:yeah:
