Hi Guys,

I need to get a gas bottle this weekend - It's for my cadac.

Which one does not freeze at the current temperatures, butane or propane and what colour bottles does it come in?

Oh, and what is the smallest size I can get away with, approx. 4-6 hours use?

TIA
Bryan

Hi, Bryan

Not sure what CADAC you have but if its the Cadac Carri chef deluxe BBQ grill, then according to the specification full on it uses 298 grams of gas per hour, so for 4-6 hours use its say 300 X 6 = 1800grams (1.8kg) and the smallest Propane (Red) Bottle is 3.9kg

The above is only a rough estimate but hopefully it will answer your questions, I agree with everyone its the Red Bottle Propane that you need.

That is the cadac I have and thanks very much for such a detailed reply.

I'll get the smallest (3.9kg) propane and that'll give me over 12 hourse of burning stuff

BTW, what sort of price is a 3.9kg propane in a bottle (no bottle to exchange)

The red bottles are the best for low temps but even they freeze up at -40 in Norway in the winter!!!!! as happened to me on excercise there with the RAF !!!!! ::bigsmile:

If I take it back after use and don't want it re-filling or a replacement do I get my £29.99 back?

I'll take you up on that very kind offer Geo :thumb:.

As for running it off the inverter, I've ordered a 12v gas to 240v adaptor from China so I'll have that as a backup should you run out of gas ::bigsmile:
