I have vertical concertina blinds on my Autotrail Mohican. One window in particular (the longest one) causes a problem due to the blind not retracting easily into its storage at the base; it tends to crimp up and buckle. Any one else have this problem and have you found a way around it?

Unfortunately I think you just have to have some patience with it and fold it uo carefully as you open it.

Did find this on a Hymer, maybe you can stiffen up the material if its not plastic with some starch, no doubt talking a load of b~~~~~s but its a thought.

Hi Peter,

thanks for your thoughts. I considered using something like hairspray or starch to increase stiffness; thought I would post first to see if anyone else had a solution.

Wee bit expensive new blinds. I'll go for the crushed and dissolved viagra, then the hairspray - watch this space. Still, many thanks for the input; any more bright ideas greatly welcomed; or that asking for more comedians?? :winky:

I would start with just half of a viagra or you you could have trouble getting them down before mid-day.

Update on my horizontally pleated vertically closing concertina blinds:

Main problem was closing the blinds once the MH had been stood for a week or so, blinds just didn't want to fold back into their storage container. I like to keep blinds closed when MH is not being used- prying eyes and protection of furnishings etc.

Solution; I purchased some silver insulation from local DIY, it's the silver lined bubble wrap type product and quite strong. Cut it up to fit individual windows and secure with rubber suckers through brass eyelets. It takes minutes to fit, easy to fold and weighs very little. - works for me and at £25.00 not too bad a solution. Further plus is that the sun does not now deteriorate my blinds either.
