3850 Max vehicle weight
4850 Max train weight (vehicle and trailer)
1850 Front Axle
2120 Rear axle

To determine your payload you will have to get the vehicle weighed the differance between your actual weight and max vehicle weight is your available payload (assuming you do not exceed individual axle weights.

the first is the most you can weigh fully loaded. (the gross weight)
the second is the total weight of van and loaded trailer. (the train weight)
the third is the front axle max weight
the forth is the rear axle max weight.

the front and rear axle weights will always add up to more than the gross weight to allow for uneven loading and should never be exceeded and the max gross should not be exceeded under any circumstances.

if you load the rear to the limit (2120kg) then deduct this from the gross (3850kg) the result (1730kg) is the most the front axle can carry.

the only true way to calculate payload is to weigh the van empty then deduct this figure from the gross (3850kg) and the difference is your payload.

thats a remarkably small trailer weight !

yep!!!

thats why im sure its not ducato based.

all 3500kg ducato's start life with a 5500kg train weight then as the gross goes up, the train comes down.

mines 3850kg gross but the trailer limit is 1650kg...total train still = 5500kg

still more than enough for my corsa (840kg unladen or 1400kg gross)

i think i can safely say its not fiat ducato based...!!!:winky:

Actually, it is Ducato based. Maybe I have read the plate wrong?

It`s a Mobilvetta Euroyacht 190LX, says `Ducato Maxi` on the back, and I think it is the X230 chassis.

Any more thoughts?

My N+B Arto 2003 on Fiat Ducato Maxi chassis with 2.8jtd has plate as follows

3500kg
5500kg
1850kg
2120kg

The 3500kg Max is what I think all N+B Artos were marketted with, but the V5C and the N+B Data show 3850kg Max weight.

I too would be surprised if the Train weight were not also 5500kg

Better with RWD if train weight is 'your thing' it would appear. Is this the norm for a RWD

van?

I checked the plate again and those are the figures stamped on. Is there a way of upgrading the train weight as I may want to tow a race car next year. The probable weight of car and trailer will be around 1000kg, so is borderline. Any ideas ? apart from selling the van of course.

Hi, i'm not sure if this has already been answered but he goes. I have a 2018 Pilote G740

1. 3650kgs
2. 6150kgs
3. 1850kgs
4. 2000kgs

I know what all the lines indicate however line 3 and 4 add up to 3850kgs not the 3650kgs as indicated in line 1. My question is do I need any suspension modifications to carry the 3850kgs or is it just a paperwork exercise to get it up plated

TIA

Chris

I'd hope it's been answered by now - it was posted in 2009! :ROFLMAO:

Edit: It's good of you to answer anyway.

Even you could update, if the axle weights stay the same, you have no margin for error. It would need loading perfectly every timeā€¦

Contact SVtech for a possible weight uplift they will know what is possible .I am Ducati based and went up to 4k,by having just semi-air suspension fitted they charge 260 +vat for their services and are really good just type the name in on here to find them.
