A three-week trip down the right hand side, into the Alps, a pop into Italy, down to Carcassonne, on into the Pyrenees to watch the Tour de France, and back through the Cevennes.

Probably best to “F11” for really full screen.

You can start, pause and remove captions as you wish.

Best,

That was good. What a shock to see the glacier. Here is 2003:

Very good, I might have a go at something like that myself instead of just a write up.

A "picture-up" is easier to do and generally easier to "read" than a write-up, don't you think? And although while we're away I do very little compiling of the tales, I'm comforted by the thought that if our laptop dies / gets stolen / house or van burns down, I can still "re-visit" our holidays by going to Picasa (or Flickr).

Brian, I'm shocked (and feel sort-of sickened). I doubt it makes all that much difference, but what time of year was it when you went to Montenvers? That was only six years ago and the glacier looks much fuller and fatter, doesn't it.

September.

Even 6 years ago the signs were there just how bad it had got. Look at these pics. See how they've had to build extra stairs down to it.

The holes where they make the ice cave shows how much it moves in a season.

Some fantastic pics, really enjoyed looking through, looks like you had a great time.

We are hoping to go to France for the first time in our van next July, but due to work commitments it will only be for a fortnight and probably not as far down but we are looking forward nevertheless!

Well, work's not a bad thing, but a job, phew, nothing worse......

Apart from football. ::bigsmile:
