Hi Ian

yes it's feasible, forget the antifreeze, that's only useful when storing the van..

* Consider insulating the fresh water tank and fitting a tank heater.. from CAK tanks

* On site, the waste tank can be left open and waste run into a bucket..

* Buy an external silver screen for the windscreen

* Consider making window screens for the side windows with silver insulation as used to insulate buildings, can be purchased from most DIY stores. Nothing fancy, gaffer tape to hem the edge and suckers to attach to the windows.

* Buy a low wattage oil filled 230v heater,can be left on 24/7 when on ehu.

* 4 Season sleeping bags

* Propane gas

Go and have fun.. :thumb:

Sound right to me but try a bubble wrap sandwich with the silver insulation for side windows, should be more effective for a minimal outlay.:thumb:

Go for it!::bigsmile:

Absolutely!! Mrs Savantuk and I used to own a T4 camper, and the only 'specialised' extras we bought were internal screens for the cab windows (Couldn't afford external ones, as both children were spending all our money in university bars) I can't remember our external fresh water tank freezing, but because there was no shower, we often kept our water inside in 4l French mineral water bottles. Red Calor gas is a must for cooking, but we used a small 1kw fan heater to keep the habitation area warm.

Good sleeping bags, as previously mentioned, are a must. Good quality down bags are best - they are warmer, and pack up into a bag not a lot bigger than a cereal box. A couple of fleece blankets are invalueable.

We spent many, many happy winter days, in snow, frost, gales, and pouring rain. There is nothing quite like snuggling up in a down bag, with the rain hammering on the roof. Sheer bliss!!
