Because of a long standing commitment we wouldn't be able to get to the Lincoln Show until Friday evening, therefore, I'm presuming the latecomers get placed in some outlying field that's a sort of last resort parking area!!! I'm worried about getting stuck/bogged down because of the recent rain.

Anyone had experience of the last resort parking area, thanks.

We are also arriving Friday evening. Don't worry too much, if it is muddy, then there will be lots in the same situation. I'm sure tractors will be available should the worst happen! :D

Warners web site says "The campers arrival gate will close at 9pm Thursday and Friday subject to weather conditions". There is no indication of any arrangements for people who arrive after 9pm.

I really don't think it is going to be that wet that you will have a problem.

I saw the weather forecast earlier on and that appears to be the case.
I can only recall one really wet time at Lincoln (2010 I think) when we were camped in the main arena which seems to be softer ground than the rest of the site. The exit slope got very muddy but I think everyone got out OK under their own power, we certainly did.

I ended up parked in the main entrance area not the one we normally go in, but on the main road, there is an area to the right that is like a layby and it is sort of level. It is noisy and the lorries start through there early. The road up the side between the airbase and the showground got filled up quickly. so we were forced to find the other area, At least this year I have got the dates correct and it is not the Gig or festival. See you all there Thursday?? I am stopping off at Lyndon Top on the way up.

I've been passed the showground today and it looks fine. If your late you can park down the road at the Scampton village turn off at the top of the hill.

There was six motorhomes parked there today.

I'm sure a few funsters must have arrived by now, so how's it looking up there?
