Just wondering what is the opinion of Funsters on Immobilisers fitted into Motorhomes ?

There is the electrical immobiliser which interrupts some part of the electrical circuit to prevent the engine starting. Either as part of an alarm system or a simple switch.

To my mind these have the disadvantages of possibly going faulty and stopping YOU starting the vehicle and not being visible to a would-be thief who breaks in on the assumption that he can drive off in your MH, causing damage.

The other sort is a mechanical device such as a Crooklock fitted to the steering wheel or similar, or even locking the drivers seat in the swivelled, backwards, position.

To me these are simple and give a visual deterrent.

Thoughts ??

Only an opportunist/amateur thief would think that.
A professional thief would know Immobilizers have been mandatory on ALL UK vehicles since 1998
