our 2014 Auto Sleeper Broadway has 17,000 miles on the clock and our front tyres just have 4mm of tread left, the rear have 6mm of tread left.
So what mileage would you expect from your tyres, it looks like I will be needing new soon.

John.

Since 1964 Gosh that makes me feel old.
Its a case of "how long is a piece of string?" to give you an example. The VW & Mercedes 999 ambulances that we had could barely manage 2000 miles on the front tyres. However the patient transport vehicles of the same type could do about 20.000 miles. What I'm getting at is the driving style & type of roads can slew the figures massively. IMHO the mileage you've quoted sound quite reasonable. I've just changed the rear tyres on our Sprinter moho & that's after about 25.000 but I'm quite a gentle driver.

just changed mine for mitchelin agilis camping tyres. old ones still had loads of tread but the side walls split. they had only done 18,000 miles. this happens a lot on motorhomes I believe .

So true! Also, different tyres have different wearing patterns and characteristics. I own an Astra VXR, for the first 3 years I fitted Continental sport contact tyres. They gave roughly 12,000 miles service, but exceptional grip. I then had an epiphany one year, the local tyre fitters didn't have Contis in stock so I fitted Pirelli p-zero's They lasted 25,000 miles and cost about the same. OK the grip wasn't as good, and the road noise was greater, but in my mind, they were half the price!
Similarly, we recently had new fronts put on the van, Hankooks, they are so much quieter than the budget tyres that the previous owner had fitted. They also seem to grip better in the slippy stuff! No idea on wear though they have only been on for 3 months!

My 2013 Pilote F630 has the same tread depth as yours and we have done just over 18,500 miles.

Most motorhome tyres are changed due to old age, rather than worn out..

The law requires car tyres to have a minimum tread depth of 1.6mm in a continuous band around the central three quarters of the tyre. To help you judge how much tread you have on your car tyres, manufacturers often mould tread bars at roughly 1.6mm

Mine are continental camper tyres too, so what all are saying mine have a few more miles in them, so I should be ok for our Benidorm trip in 3 weeks ( 3,000 ) miles.

I run on Conti Vanco 2 Winter tyres all the time. Being a slightly softer compound they are considered to wear at a slightly faster rate. To date I've got over 25000 out of the fronts and nearer 50000 out of the rears, which were only changed because of age. We do quite a high mileage and this seems to be consistent over several tyre replacements. The only down side I've noticed is that they heat up a bit higher when running as indicated by the TyrePal system I use, but hasn't caused any problems.

That said, driving style can make a tremendous difference - I'm quite gentle on tyres, having been a coach driver for 17 years. Passengers don't appreciate being driven by Lewis Hamilton!

Would you mind coming down here and explaining that to the Stage Coach bus drivers! :D

I'm not going to make a judgement on somebody else's tyres! Take them to a competent tyre checker, it will probably be free.

Possibly, but equally they could be in a horrendously dangerous state and ready to blow out at any moment! The only way to know for sure, pop down to a tyre place and ask them to check!

This is a 2014 van the tyre treads are within the legal limits, no way in horrendous dangerous state, all that I was asking was what mileage folks were getting from their motor home tyres.

They're BUS drivers, not COACH drivers - different animal. (I'll get me tin hat out........................!)

I would think, reading through the posts, you've probably got an answer - it all depends! Personally I'd be happy enough with 4mm but then again others get through tyres faster than me. I did once change a set of tyres when not really needed, but I was about to do around 6000 miles to and around Morocco.

On our Kia in the hand book it says to rotate tyres front to back every 7500 miles to keep the wear equal.

Over the last few years I have had 19-22,000 miles out of Michelin Agilis Camping on the front of an A Class with a heavy 3.0 Iveco front end, 2200 kg rated front axle and some pretty poor roads from Morocco to Poland and the Baltic states. Just had some new tyres to replace a pair on around 3mm tread prior to a long autumn run. I know the legal minimum is 1.6mm but imho this is way too little for a great big lump of moho on a greasy autumn road.:)
