We will be with @cliffandger in Le Crotoy next Thursday starting our French hollibobs. Yippee....

We are all really looking forward to oysters and a huge seafood platter, so should we go to our usual place or do any of you have a recommendation?

We promise to post pictures....of the oysters not what may happen afterwards:wink:

We have been to a couple of the cheaper restaurants and both were nice ( didn't have oysters though ( Rob says unessesary!!) but always see which French seem to like. Sorry no help as usual but do enjoy!!
Will you post a picture of the very large platter as @Robert Clark isn't on his next trip!!

Whichever restaurant you choose, please will you post on here as we're planning another France visit next month and may stop off at Le Crotoy.

The green one opposite the fishmongers on the corner is the cheapest. Have eaten fruits de mer there plenty of time and always been very good. I think each restaurant in Le Crotoy has its own fishmongers attached so you cant go far wrong which ever one you choose.

ps, found it on tripadvisor

https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Resta...bonne_franquette-Le_Crotoy_Somme_Picardy.html

Yes, this is our usual one, with the slightly surly waiter (but that could be our very bad French).

No we haven't started our blog or journey yet, we travel across on Thursday, rest easy you can all share in our ups and downs, will post then.
Thanks all for the info.

If you do get down to Saumur on the south bank about 5 miles out of town on the d947 toward chinnon there is the big aire, oppersite the aire is/was a fantastic resturant all faimily run, last time we were there the opening time had reduced, but it is/as of a very high standard.

The aire is huge and allthought its a few euros well worth it.
