Just joined, just need a MH now! (1 Viewer)

Hi all,
I've just joined up and wondered if anybody could anybody recommend a breakdown recovery service company for UK & Europe (the Europe trip will be between 6-9 months) The MH we are considering is 6.3m length, 3.2m high and weighs 3850kgs (max).
Any info or advice would be great, many thanks

We took out our MH breakdown when we took out our insurance and I think it added about £90 on to the premium, that was for UK & Europe with our 7.3 mtr Motorhome

Hi and welcome.
You will need to check your mh insurance to ensure that you are covered for the length of time you are abroad.
I am with comfort which gives me breakdown cover.

Hi Bart,
Thanks for the warm welcome and info, I will consider doing the same then when we buy and insure the MH (next week hopefully). Does that cover you for long periods abroad as well?

Hi and welcome. It may be worth signing up here as if you don't subscribe you only get a few posts. It's fifteen quid a year and you will find it pays for itself several times over. In fact you need a subscription here before anything else good luck

Comfort Insurance are good for motor homes and I think the UK and European breakdown cover adds about £60 to the premium. We pay just over £300 pa all in. Can't remember how long abroad that includes, but since they can provide insurance for full-timers, I don't see why they wouldn't be able to help with your requirements.

Dave I have just looked at my policy , my insurance is with AIB ( Airsports Insurance bureau ) which I was directed to from Comfort insurance as I live in n.Ireland and they do not provide cover here.
Breakdown is provided by ERS , and the cost for this was £75.00
It's for UK and Europe . Cannot see duration restrictions but know pretty sure it's for 9 months of the year.

I think you'll find it's no limit to time in Europe I seem to remember them telling me when I insured our van this year

Hi Dave and a warm welcome to Fun. It is worth checking that any breakdown cover you get will be able to handle the weight and length of motorhome that you are looking at. Some have restrictions for recovery vehicles that may not be apparent until it is too late.
