Does anyone know anything about WJ motorhomes. There is one for sale built on the Iveco chassis and it looks pretty well put together. Its a WJ Elite 870. I have never heard of these things before, so any comments from anyone that has seen one in the flesh would be much appreciated.

It does seem that they are SA built which points to the fact they should be put together well. I dont understand how one would finish up in the UK as shipping costs would have been astronomical. They do seem to be well built with all the options. What I do like is the rear corner too corner fixed bed, allowing you to get out of bed on both sides without taking up too much of the vans interior.

So what are your views on this. It does seem like a lot of van for the money.

You're right, it does seem like a lot of van.

It's on Gumtree as well for £18,500.

I imagine it's going to be hard finding anyone with any experience of them.

Yes, I saw it on Gumtree, am just intrigued on how it got here from South Africa. Its very low mileage for the year and as its on the Iveco chassis no problems with servicing. Am tempted to go and have a look, but wondered if any funsters knew anything about them.

Not long enough!
Go and look and ask lots of questions.
It may be lower priced as it's not a well known manufacturer.
Check his feedback. The negative one says scam.

Great looking motorhome, very tempting at that price, Iveco are a good make, I MOT'd many many of them, very tough and reliable.

Go and check it out Dave, you know you want to :roflmto:

I know, I know. The problem is, I have been in the "Two bird club" so many times and would like to get rid of one outfit before adding another to the fleet. Am 90% sure the fifth wheel will be gone this week, so then I will have to replace with something. Looks like a run down to darkest Wales.

perhaps driven back overland to the UK. popular back in the day

if so, may have had a rough ride ..

Purely subjective, but I don't like the inside.. looks home built and without knowing the construction, insulation, tanks winterisation etc I'd say it's a bit of a gamble..

My view... Stay with what you know Dave.. a nice RMB

I agree it is a gamble Jim, and would prefer another RMB. The problem is, good RMBs are getting too expensive with the £ falling down a black hole. If I have to wait until the £ picks up against the Emu my travelling days will be long over.
