Man Plans... God Laughes.

After a few false starts, we finally get away around 3.30ish today, Tuesday, August 9th.

A new adventure begins.

After pounding the tarmac remorselessly for 55 kms (only stopping for a rest once), my highly tuned, off-site, freeloading antenna started twitching and we have pulled up just outside Lisle-sur-Tarn.

We are beside a small lake, which is ajacent to the River Tarn, and has lots of ducks and 49 coypu (nutrias) swimming around in it.

On the other side of the lake there is a collection of motorhomers, where there are (I think) tank emptying facilities.

Quite frankly, although they are definitely motorhomers, they look very similar to the travelling folk who have been causing us such grief and delay and so, the very last place I would choose to spend the night tonight, would be squeezed in there with them.

An early night... and I hope Frankie is able to start relaxing a little after the time she has been having recently...

More in due course; if you Funsters are interested.

My people in the French department tell me that coypu's are a protected species here in France.

JJ

They were public enemy number 1 in Norfolk some years ago. Caused untold damage to the fens. No natural enemies as they were an imported species. Bit like some other species I could think of :censored:.

I'm sat....I don't believe it... We have gone at last. Thanks all for your good wishes. I should feel a bit better in 2 or 3 days time! Till then....rrrrrrrrr snore time!

Hope you get a good rest Frankie, if anyone can give relaxing lessons it's JJ, and please keep the blog going, it looks as if our departure is going to be delayed yet again, so I have to live vicariously.

Keep hold of my lock Spring JJ, I bought pies with a long use-by date.

PS. In case Mo is right, DON'T eat the lettuce on the right before driving.:rofl:

and please keep the blog going,

Excuse me... this is a thread not a blog! The address of my (oft neglected) blog is in my profile (I think).

Keep hold of my lock Spring JJ, I bought pies with a long use-by date.

I still have your spring but I think I have found a source of better ones... you will have a choice when the time comes... (Don't worry about use by dates... my last pie was two years out of date).

I think he want`s to start a market stall... on your travels.

Look what I have here Sir Old Mo...

I'm a little concerned

How does somebody as lazy and laid back manage to relax even more than usual, when in their 'holidays'

Is that physically possible?

Not quite so laid back at 8.00am when I found out that some wretched, lycra clad, thin, old (mostly), men use this carpark as a (noisy) meeting place before they head off onto the road in their swarm to annoy the brummm brummm motorists.

Excuse me... this is a thread not a blog! The address of my (oft neglected) blog is in my profile (I think).

Apologies Oh Relaxed one, after the 3rd sleepless night on the trot I tend to get a bit punch drunk and mix up my thingamebobs.

I still have your spring but I think I have found a source of better ones... you will have a choice when the time comes... (Don't worry about use by dates... my last pie was two years out of date).

Ta muchly, I have made a temporary fettle by putting a stud at either end of the spring to lengthen it but am a bit worried about these eroding the lock at either end in the long term.

Pies will deffo be no more than 6 months out of date. :whistle2:

Look what I have here Sir Old Mo...
